Model answer 1

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in the hope that you can help me with a problem regarding a camera that I recently bought.

On 19 October, I purchased a Sony DSLR camera from the ‘XYZ Duty Free’ store at Doha Airport on my way from India to London. The camera cost $899 and I paid for it on my Master credit card.

When I arrived at my hotel in London almost 24 hours later I discovered, to my horror, that the box which contained the camera did not include the battery charger. The space in the box for the charger was empty.

I am now in London and I am not returning to India , so I need to get the missing parts here. As you are the representative of the company in this country I would be grateful if you could arrange for the parts to be sent to me. I attach a copy of the receipt with this letter for your information.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Model Answer 2

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to draw your attention to a  Xeon camera, brought in your Bangkok airport shop recently on 24 July. This is to inform you that the charger has been missing in the new package.

To explain in detail, I work for an international news agency that constantly needs to travel to cover the latest updates, subsequently during a trip to Australia I had a layover in Bangkok. The offer on DSLR 2D camera given by your Xeon company grabbed my attention, as it is equipped with all the latest features.

I remember your customer support man at the airport kiosk billed me for 240$ and handing me a new sealed camera. Furthermore, the billed receipt is being attached for your further proceeding.

As time was running I boarded my flight without a cross-check of the box. Upon reaching my destination I was disappointed to see the charger has been missing in the slot. It would be helpful for me if you can replace it with a new camera or can send the charger to the below-mentioned address. To meet my job requirements the camera is mandatory hence it would be appreciated if you could respond to me swiftly.

Anticipating a positive response,

Yours sincerely,

Model Answer 3

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter in context to the camera which I bought last month, from “Best Buy” while I was on my holidays.

I purchased a Canon black DSLR camera for $350 exclusive of VAT. I bought the camera at Best Buy’s Toronto store located near the intersection of Kennedy and Lawrence road. I purchased as my mother’s birthday present, which is why, I did not open the packaging or check inside the box; however, when we opened the box, we discovered that the box was missing a charger and a leather cover. It is in fact very difficult for me to come back to Toronto, only for a charger or a cover because I live in Amritsar, India.

Besides, I am not quite reasonable. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate it if you would be able to deliver me the mentioned items on the address mentioned above, if not, refund me the amount equivalently on my credit card ending with 50321 which is used while making a purchase. Please note my reference number YZ39G6 as proof of purchase.

I shall await your prompt reply.

Lots of love,

Model Answer 4

Dear Sir,

My name is Mark Roberts and I am writing to you regarding a Nokia camera that I bought at your department store on Sunhill Road, Dewsbury, on the 5th September.

The camera seemed to work fine in the shop. However, upon returning home, it became clear that the shutter mechanism was not functioning properly. In addition to this, there was a small scratch on the lens.

I therefore returned to the shop the following day, on the 6th September, and spoke to a company representative about the issue. I left the camera with the assistant and they assured me that they would look into the problem with a view to repairing the camera and get back to me a few days later.

However, it has now been one week and when I contacted the shop again they said that the camera has still not been fixed and they do not know how long it will be.

As I am sure you will understand, it is not acceptable to be waiting for such a long time for it to be repaired. I would therefore like to request that I be given a full refund should I not receive the repaired camera by the end of this week.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Lots of love,
