To the Editor,

My name is IeltsSelfStudy – a resident of Hitech City for five years. My family moved here due to its affordability, and proximity to the city. We also enjoy several small parks in which our son and their friends play. One of these parks is Botanical garden Park, on Botanical garden road. It is not large, but it is well-used, clean, and safe.

Recently, I learnt that Hitech City Council has decided to sell this public amenity for development. The land has already been reasoned residential, so I assume as many dwellings as possible – perhaps even twenty apartments – could be built here.

While I am not a lawyer, and do not know by which legal process this land could be sold, as a resident, I was neither informed nor consulted about it. All my neighbours say the same thing. We have petitioned the council, and I hope this letter reaches a wider public.

Our website, SavebotanicalPark.com lists a number of protest activities in which we hope your readers may join us. Too few green and tranquil public spaces remain in this overdeveloped city. Save Lafarge Park before it is be too late.

Warm Regards,

To the Editor

My name is IELTSSelfStudy, I’m a resident of Hyderabad Town where I lived for about 20 years so far, we moved here mainly because it’s a conservatory area near by Botanical Park. Our neighbourhood was one of the greenest one in Ealing and we loved to live here so far.

As you may know our Council decided to give permission to build right in this green protected area without asking any permission to the neighbours living here. We heard that at least 10 brand new buildings will be developed in the area leaving us any further green space in the neighbourhood which suppose to be a conservatory one and therefore any new construction is allowed in the area.

We decided altogether to sign a petition to the Council and at the the same time to contact the press in order to rise the problem in the hope you can give us a voice. We are all determined to sue this shameful choice as it is completely outlaw.

We are confident that your magazine can help us to let everybody know about what is going on in action. I personally take this opportunity to wish you all the best and to thank you in advance for anything you can do to help us.

Warmest Regards,

Model Answer 3

Dear Sir,

My name is IeltsSelfStudy and I am a resident at Gem Apartments. I am writing to inform you that the local council has expressed their interest in selling the park nearby my home. This is a piece of very bad news for most of the residents who live nearby as it will have many negative consequences.

Let me explain the situation in more detail. There are around 3500 people in my locality and all of them are dependent on this park heavily. Approximately, 400 to 500 people come to this park daily for jogging and walking. Furthermore, this is the only place where seniors get together and spend time with each other. If the park is sold, then these people have to go to the other nearest park which is 3 miles away from our locality. The distance will make it quite tough for seniors to commute on a daily basis.

If the council goes ahead with this plan, I would have no option but to raise this matter to higher authorities. I would be grateful to you if you can look at this matter and do the needful

Yours Sincerely,
IELTSSelfStudy

Dear Sir,

I am IeltsSelfStudy , a resident of Eastern Hill apartment, living in room 2A on the ground floor. I am writing this letter to request a refund of my rental deposit that I have paid before moving into this apartment.

Last month, we both met and signed the termination of rental contract, I have also cleaned up the house and fix any breakages to ensure that the apartment would be returned in great condition. According to the contract, I would be eligible to receive the refundable deposit within one week since the date of signing the termination of lease agreement; however, two months passed by, I still have not received my previous deposit yet.

I believe that I have complied all the terms and conditions of the agreement so I respectfully request that my deposit will be repaid in the early of this month. If we both are incapable of tackling this case in a satisfactory manner, I will have no alternative but to seek legal advice.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours Sincerely,
IELTSSelfStudy

Model Answer 5

Dear Sir,

My name is IeltsSelfStudy. I am working as a supervisor in the health care department of ABC Hospitals. I live on the west side of the city, Hitech City, where the Botanical park is situated.

I have heard from news sources that the local council has planned on selling this park. Being just a stone’s throw away from my house, I have seen how crucial this park is for this community. It is a go-to place for every individual staying nearby, whether it is for evening exercise or for just catching up with neighbours and friends. It also serves as our community hall, especially in the festive season. Lastly, this is the only park left in this area, and there is no other park for about 5 miles in any direction.

We all dearly love that park and do not wish to lose it. If the council would not change the plan of selling it, we all community members will file a case in court to protect this public park from any sale. We will be pleased if your newspaper would shed light on the importance of this park. And convey the community’s collective standpoint to the local council.

I will be appreciate your help.

Yours Sincerely,
IELTSSelfStudy

Model Answer 6

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is IeltsSelfstudy, a resident of the Hitech City for 5 years. I am writing to bring to your attention a piece of disturbing news that I would like you to publish in your newspaper Times Today. I have had heard of plans for selling a park from several sources. Firstly, I saw a few engineers are taking various measurements of the park. In addition, the park security person mentioned this plan when he was questioned by me.

The park is of utmost importance to our local community as people go there to play sports such as badminton, volleyball. Also, elderly people do regular walking and yoga and many families use it for social activities during weekends. Therefore selling a park will affect the local residents as there is no other park within a 10km radius.

I would like you to publish an article about the drawbacks of this plan and express the community’s great disapproval of the selling idea. I have collected the signatures of most of the residents who are against this plan. Please let me know if you need any additional information.

I look forward to seeing your article soon in the newspaper.

Yours Sincerely,
IELTSSelfStudy
