Model answer 1

Dear Tom,

It’s very exciting to hear that you’ll be moving to London and congratulations on your new job!

As you’ll probably be working in the city centre, perhaps you could think about living near me in Croydon. It’s a large town in south London. There are people here from all over the world and it has a friendly, relaxed vibe.

In terms of public transport, you can get around London by bus, train and the Underground. You should just get an Oyster card, which I’ll help you with. It means you can get on and off without having to buy a separate ticket each time. Public transport is pretty crowded in the mornings but no worse than in Moscow!

I’ll introduce you to my friends and I’m sure you’ll meet people at work too. You could try living in a shared house if you want to meet some locals.

Anyway, I can’t wait to see you.

Lots of love,

Model Answer 2

Dear Tina,

From your letter which I received yesterday, I’m very much excited to hear the news that you are coming to my city for work.

You’ve informed me that you will be assuming job in ‘Microsoft’, at the heart of the city; you should really need to consider living with me at my home, just 6 KM away from your workplace.

We do have a well-connected metro rail, which connects almost all the major areas of city, and this makes our commuting easy, cheap and convenient. Most companies provide cab transport for their employees here who are into nightshift.

The best thing I can assure you that you will be having a bunch of friends here, those who stay in my apartment. I know you will really enjoy socializing with them and will hang around. We also have a club to which I can arrange a membership for you.

Awaiting your arrival,

Regards,

Model Answer 3

Dear Tina,

I cannot explain in words how excited I am to have you in my city. I know for sure that you will have amazing time living in Hyderabad.

Since you are arriving in winter, I would recommend you stay in the old city area of Hyderabad. Even though it is quite crowded during day time, the night life here is very vibrant. From food to daily consumables, everything is available close-by. Plus the street food here is to die for!

As you wouldn’t have access to your car here, I suggest you take help of excellent public transport in Hyderabad. The buses here are punctual and the routes are wide enough to cover every area of the city. Hence you won’t find any problem to commute to work.

Moreover it is a heaven for socially active people. You would find many festivals and concerts going on here where you would be able to interact with new people, probably as same personality as yours.

Looking forward to see you soon,

Lots of love,
